VENUE: Bryant-Lake Bowl
SYNOPSIS: Wormwood tells the story of Gaston Beauvais, who comes unglued when his fiancée falls in love with, and is seduced by, another man. To ease the pain he takes up drinking absinthe, which destroys his moral faculties and drives him mad. As Gaston descends deeper and deeper into addiction, he hallucinates more and more, and in his madness he causes all the main characters to wind up dead.

At the audition, we’ll ask you to:
- Perform a prepared monologue (classical or modern, comic or dramatic) no longer than 2 minutes.
- Do some cold reading from the script.
- Sing a song a cappella. (We’ll have an accompanist at callbacks.) You don’t need to have a trained musical theater voice; you just need to be able to keep a rhythm and carry a tune. If you can sing at all, don’t tell yourself that you don’t sing well enough to audition for this show – give it a shot!

Except for the actor playing Gaston, all the actors will play other small roles, including Gaston’s hallucinations.
