Steve Schroer

Since 2002 Steve has written and directed eleven shows for Hardcover, and was a co-writer for three other Hardcover shows. He is the founder and former director of the theater program at the University of Chicago. While in Chicago, he also founded Cardiff Giant Stage Co., a small professional theater company, and served as general editor of Chicago Review, a nationally distributed literary magazine. Since moving to the Twin Cities, Steve has taught theater, film, literature, storytelling, and creative writing at the Guthrie Theater, the Children's Theatre, the Playwrights' Center, the University of Minnesota, and Concordia University. Between Chicago and the Twin Cities, he has directed more than 30 shows (including comedy revues, an opera, and plays by Shakespeare, Tennessee Williams, and Boris Vian) and produced around 220.
